I just installed the whipple inductor in my Teese RMC3. I think it made a bit of an improvement but I'm still needing more headroom. I have spoken to Mr. Teese numerous times and he won't give me any tips on getting more headroom (cleaner) out of the circuit. He did raise the values of the caps so I can run at 18v but I am sure there is some other tweeking I can do to get more clean headroom out of it. I need an expert to over look the circuit to see if it is possible to get a cleaner sound out of it. Is anyone familiar with the circuit? He told me the slightly overdriven warmth is from the low and mids. I don't want to sacrifice them and have a sterile sounding wah. Any ideas?

I'm willing to snap a ton of pics if that helps.. Compared to other wahs it is quite complex  ???

You could try raising the value of the resistor on q1s emitter, or stick a 1k trimpot in there and adjust to taste. This might clean up some of the low-mid growl.

Funny how you're looking for "clean" but not "sterile"...sounds like the way I brew beer :)

Edit: I didn't read carefully enough and was working under the assumption that you had a crybaby-based circuit. I'm not too familiar with the teese, is the circuit comparable?
