I've always wanted to build a marshall in a box pedal so a couple weeks ago I ordered the part online.
The one big issue I have is that on the layout there are these two caps that are 2n.
Now I don't have 2n caps so my question is, can I just put two 1n caps in parallel to get the equivalent of 2n?
Also, how would I go about doing that in this particular layout?

yep you can do that...

use resistor cut off's to attach to the board.. ;)

Do what Rob says if you want to be bang-on.  Or you could substitute 2.2nF caps instead?  You probably won't be able to detect any audible difference.  2nF isn't common and typical cap tolerances mean that "ball park" is close enough.

Ohm's Law - much like Coles Law, but with less cabbage...

a chart using different combinations of resistor/cap values.

Cap Resistor  Freq (Hz)
2n     10k     7961
2n2     9.1k  7953
1n8    11k    8042
1n5    13k    8165

When you say use resistor cut offs, what do you mean?

I usually just keep 1 set of legs straight. then bend the other set at 90° angles and loop around then solder the loop. Imagine the wrapping of a guitar string around the core. except 1 loop should be sufficient.

You know, unless you *know* that the resistors are precisely 10k and the caps are exactly 2nf, I wouldn't worry too much about using 2nf or 2200pf caps, particularly when there are so many other component shaping the tone.

Ok so I think I understand what your saying. I hope I have enough space but I'me sure it'll work out just fine. Wish me luck!!

Incidentally, the Madbean build document for it notes that one can use 2200pf without issue.
