Suggested volume pedal circuit?

I bought a used Vox a little while back for stupid cheap, $25 for their current entry level model.  After switching it to true bypass it sat on my pedalboard for awhile but has mostly suffered neglect.  I think I'd get a lot more use out of a volume pedal between my dirt and modulation.

So, I've got a 100k pot in there to work with.  Should I just go passive, or can someone suggest another volume pedal circuit that would be worth trying?

Depends where you want to insert it in your signal path.

100k is going to load down other effects if your intent was to insert the volume pedal between your guitar and pedalboard.  If the intent was to stick it at the end of things, then 100k is fine.

A more flexible arrangement would be to install a buffer circuit, or variable gain preamp, and use the 100k pot as a foot-controlled output.  The high input impedance will mean you can stick it anywhere in the pedal chain that you want.

There's a very nice example from Thomas Henry here: http://hammer.ampage.org/files/Device1-8.PDF   It's 34 years old, but it still works.

I'd be putting this after OD/Dist and before Delay/Trem.  My guitar has a built in control for pre-effect volume ;)

Realistically, now that I  think of it, I'll probably just try the passive route first.  It would be so stupid simple just to try out that it's hard to justify not giving it a go.

i threw an AMZ buffer splitter (http://www.muzique.com/lab/splitter.htm) in my VP JR and it did wonders.  mostly because stock the 2 outputs aren't split independently and suffered serious tone loss when utilizing the tuner out.  if you don't have a tuner out maybe just throw a Klon buffer (http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2011/04/klon-buffer.html) in there

I do have a buffer at the start of my chain, and not really interested in adding a tuner out since this volume pedal will be post OD/Dist.

Right this moment, this is what my chain would look like if I were to add in the volume pedal:

Strat -> Klon (incl buffer) -> Morning Glory -> Volume -> Deep Blue Delay -> RC-20XL -> Traynor YCV20

So as the others were saying.

If the volume stays where you listed it and it is passive it can load down the Morning glory since it would not not be running into a High Impedance input (around 1Meg) instead it would be running to the 100K pot in the pedal.

Ok, and I think this is where I need to get schooled a little.  Or at least try, fail, and learn.

In my mind, I see a 100k pot as the last thing the signal is seeing _inside_ the morning glory (its own volume pot), so I never questioned putting a 100k directly outside of the morning glory.
