Built the 386/40106 beavis PWM dist?

I like the tone, but it cuts in and out and notes can sometimes end sharply and sometimes not.
Problem or feature?  Supposed to sound like that?

If you are passing audio thru a Schmidt trigger, http://www.beavisaudio.com/projects/armageddonprocessor/ and you are getting sharp gating cutting off your notes, can you introduce a little DC into the inverter stage input, with a pot, can you get rid of the gating by having the DC bias the thing "on"?  There's a cool distortion in there.  I've seen this in a schematic somewhere.
