If only I lived in the NYC area... Too bad I'm on the other side of the world :(
If at first you don't succeed... use bigger transistors!

This makes me sad. I would love to meet such interesting people.

If you folks ever come to St. Louis hit me up

I hope to make it there, THANK YOU for the opportunity!

The opportunity to meet Steve and Mark? Hell yes I'm in. Although, my parents did warn me about meeting strange men on the internet...

If you thought we were strange on the internet, you should probably do your seat belt up for real life:icon_lol:

When Steve and Judy came up to Ottawa to visit us, I threw a soirée at our home, lots of locals came by, and we had a grand old time.  Looking to repeat the event....and the fun.

See ya there!

Oh wow, looks like you're more or less in Park Slope, judging by where that bar is located. When I lived in NYC I played guitar with a guy who lived in some neighborhood just a bit farther out, Windsor Terrace I think? It's been years since I moved out of NYC to the Midwest, and that was way before I started DIY pedal building. In short, sounds like fun and wish I could be there! All the best for a fun event.

Oh lord...So how do we do this? It's been a while since I've done online dating, and met with people of the internet. Do I stand outside holding a rose or something?  :icon_razz:

Just kidding. I'm sure it won't be hard to find you guys.

I intend to wear my signature overalls.  That oughta kill the romance pronto.

I would've loved to meet you, but NYC is a 7-hour ride and your meet-and-greet being on a Sunday evening, well... I can't.
Hopefully next time !! (if it's in Ottawa, I'm in ! ;) )

I'd bring a pedal for show and tell, but all the breadboards will fall apart on the F train...

I did not think of a meet-up like this earlier, partly because we do not have space for it in our home. Also our building is in notoriously kid-friendly Park Slope, and the neighbors might get upset at hearing assorted growly noises. This is NYC ya know! If/when I do something like this again, I will plan more in advance and arrange for a venue where gear would be welcome.

I see an annual DIYstompboxes convention brewing.

Next year let's all meet up in Hawaii......We can all stay at Aron's....I'm sure he won't mind.  :icon_wink:
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

Oooh! Oooh! Thank you for pointing that out!

Here I thought I was going to have to schlep all the way to Manhattan on a Sunday evening. I thought we were talking 12th & 8th in the West Village.

Yay!

Psh, I'd WISH it was in the west village. I'm coming from Harlem.

How don't we have more people by this point?

You mean like, listen to the thing?  No no - show and tell. Complete noob, & I only seem to make from %^&*tail napkin to breadboard to zip-lock baggie anyway.
Ok, in the preview, the word %^&*tail is being censored.

Had a blast meeting all you guys. It was great to finally be able to put faces/real names to usernames, and learn everyone's background. You're a passionate group of guys, and I learned a lot from the short time we spent together.

Steve,
Thank you so much for the bare box! It really is a wonderful piece of gear, and I can't wait to use it. Seeing one in person really showed me how well thought out the design is, and how beautiful precise the machining is.

I really do implore for everyone to buy one and check it out. You can think of at least ONE design that could use a killer enclosure like this! And if you're worried that you don't want to finish the pedal yourself...Look at Pedalpartsplus! They stock them and can finish them, if that's holding you back.

Allen and Jeremy,
Keep in touch! It was awesome to finally meet another DIY'er, and I really got a lot out of our conversations last night.

And finally, Mark.
Having gotten to meet the man that's advised me so much over the years was really amazing. You may not remember all the threads of mine you've helped me on, but you were always there to help me with an extremely thorough explanation of the design of the circuit/pedal/concept of my thread's topic. You've been probably the most consistent member to assist me in my ongoing quest, and it was an honor to finally shake your hand. It amazes me that you've amassed so much knowledge and experience in every field in which you've worked or even dabbled, and still have an unwavering sense of humility. You really are a rare gem.
That, and you kind of look like a less crazy Mike Matthews.

Great meeting you guys!
