Here is the VHT Russian jfet/mosfet preamp...  :icon_twisted:

The good news is that you can use the exact same layout as the Buzzefall - Laboga Mr. Hector / DR. L3CT3R layout... :icon_wink:

There is no sweep pot on the schematic... Just pretend R24 is the sweep pot :icon_wink:

Debugging this one now... getting choppy output? Hmmm... I'll find it :icon_wink: I am getting full +9.45V on the drain of the 4th stage 2N7000? Could this be the problem :icon_biggrin:

Come on Jim. Preying you get it sorted. I can't wait to hear some samples. Especially since I'd never heard of these amps before and now I really like the sound. So a vht preamp would be great. Come on Jim. Willing you on.:)

I'll get it... The Engl, Mr.Hector and Krank didn't work the first time I fired them up. I don't breadboard these first, I just draw them, etch them and pray... I should breadboard them but I hate to BB anything bigger than a boost circuit. I walk away from a bread board for 2 hours, forget what I was doing then come back and wonder wtf is this mess? :icon_confused:

On another note: I found a schematic of a Russian jfet/mosfet version of a mesa dual rec... Dr. boogie! Looks bad ass!

I guess these are for use in front of a SS clean amp?
I can't wait. Depending on the output I guess it could be used as a di too.

Ok, I found the stupid problem... On the schematic R17 - 330k should be connected to Vref +4.5v not ground like on my layout :icon_redface: no biggie

100% Verified!!  :icon_twisted: the etch transfer is the same, no corrections needed..

I am not really into this one so much... More of an 80's rock to bluesy tone, plenty of gain but more of a vintage sound and attack. Kinda cool but not really what I am after. I am sure some vintage guys would love it.. really warm blues tones can be had and works well with the neck pickup!

almost 6 years... but necrobump: is there still a schematic around for this one?

Those KP303´s should be replaceable with J201´s, right? I´d just have to replace the drain-resistors with trimpots to adjust the voltage, if I´m not mistaking!

temol

Yes, and yes (but you can play with a resistors  to set a voltage).
