Post your favorite j201 based circuits. Just got mine in the mail and I have extras I can't wait to use

I use em to make the AMZ buffer splitter http://www.muzique.com/lab/splitter.htm and put it in the Ernie Ball VP Jr

I have only tried two different J201 circuit so far, but they are both on top of my list when it comes to pre-amp/overdrives.
It's the clear, open sound of these circuits and the way they respond to picking dynamics or rolling down the guitar's volume knob that I really like.
I have build a few Plexi-Drives for my own rig, one of the builds being two parallel circuit controlled by one set of knobs (stereo pots). I use that one for my stereo rig to keep the stereo pedals in front of it stereo.
Last week I have been building a ROG Flipster for a bass player. He bought a Newtone Flipster kit to build inside a 19inch rack and got stuck, so he asked me to rebuild it using my typical turret construction. It has a lot in common with the Plexi-drive schematics and sounds, but it's a much more subtler overdrive, with only mild gain for slightly compressed growly sounds. I really like it and am considering building one for my own rig, as it invites me playing somewhat different from when I'm using the Plexi-Drive

AMZ buffer

Not to rag on your buffer, but didn't we just a have a thread about J201's being one of the worst jfets for them? I know my last buffer that I used J201s in sounded a bit off so I bypassed it and started using 2n5457s.

Never saw that thread. Can you link it?

+1 for plexi-drive. I just built one modified to be a bit thicker and warmer.

How has the Dr. Boogie not been mentioned? I'm building another one tonight.  A great high gain circuit.

You have pcbs? Or are you using p2p?

+1 for the Dr Boogie. I've got an actual Dual Rec and I prefer the Dr Boogie for bedroom volumes.

Madbean has a boogie pcb. I didn't look into the details, but they say slight modifications from the drawing done by Guassmarkov

maybe this

I've seen a lot of these circuits with gets cascading like gain stages in an amp. I'm working on the box of rock right now with bs170's using the krankosaurus schematic, and having quite a time of it. The electrolytic cap that goes from v+ straight to ground lowered the volume and gain, when I removed it the gain went way up. Anyone else have power filter probs in gain stage circuits?
