another question - the diode and fuse... how do I figure out what values / parts they should be?

Personally, I would say leave the fuse out.

For the protection diode use a 1N400x . X being whatever number. A 1N4008 will work just the same as a 1N4001.
I am the Nightrider. I'm a fuel injected stompbox machine. I am the rocker, I am the roller, I am the MIDI-controller!

Thanks for all the help!

Just realised that without a transformer, these outputs will still all share a ground.. hmm...

You could put a filter after the 7809s, like this:

Just omit D1, D2 and R2.

Will cut down ripple.

Yup. The real easy solution is to buy two one spots. Daisy chain all the pedals that play together well on one and give the troublemaker it's own one.

But that would take the fun out of it.

well.. the powerplant jr I'm running already does have 5 isolated outputs.. but max 130ma. I'm thinking that I run the sensitive pedals via it, and make a second box to go under the board with 4 100ma outputs and one output with 1000ma for the delay.. see how it goes.
