Thank you Brother Jimi. Actually, all the tranny work is done, I'm just waiting for the brackets for the new power caps. As in the Ampeg, the Toshibas, along with the MJ15003's, work great.

The amp really sounds good though. Just needs a cab now. I have the old Eminence speakers from the Ampeg to match it up with. I think some nice 3/4" plywood is going to be in order.

When I get some time, I'm going to mic it up, and record it. Like Mark remarked when I first tried it out in Ottawa, it's got a nice sounding tremolo. The drive circuit has some great grunt to it as well. With the voicing turned down to around 2 or 3, it's got a Muff like quality.

Dang it - I'm behind again. Sorry.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

No worries my friend. Wife's got me up to the eyeballs in pre-Christmas living room reno work.  :icon_lol:

i had one of the amps in this series, and it was indeed pretty nice...way nicer than you'd expect, anyways!
i got mine for free, turned out a connection inside was loose. done deal. fixed and flipped!!

i wish you were closer... i have a pristine 4x12 i'd gladly just give ya bro... i'd ask if ya wanted to take a ride, but, it's not worth that much gas!!

;)

also.... if these had the kustom vibratto circuit, they'd be perfect... i'm not sure, cuz i haven't had a chance to read the whole thread (more of a musician lately than a solder jockey)... but the jacks on the circuit board may be to go to a separate board for the reverb driver/recovery amp.
all kustoms as i recall were set up like that, but it didn't mean it had the actual circuit. that was usually on a daughterboard called a "special effects board" that would house the trem, reverb, and harmonic clipper (if applicable)

psyched ya got it up and running. kustoms can be real sleepers... and GREAT with effects!!
