Looking for the best place to install a Rate LED for the LFO on an MXR Flanger M117.

Thoughts?

Sorry for the HUGE pic!  :-\ MAybe it will help...  ;)

I'm using U5 pin7, 'cause @pin 1 it will tick...
I'm buffering with a NPN, just to be safe...

Thanks as always Fender!  ;)

That was where I was looking as well but I wanted to confirm.

How are you buffering? Can you provide a drawing?

I can't draw right now, but..

pin 7 > 10K~100K to NPN Base
Collector to +V
Emitter to 4K7 + LED to ground

The higher the base resistor the lower the op-amp loading.

Just curious...
Does it matter which side the 4k7 is on? i.e. 4k7 between +V and the collector side. Like this;

If you want to try something a little funkier use Fender's buffer suggestion but instead of connecting to Pin7 connect to the wiper of the Width pot. When the width is towards the LFO the LED will flash the same as connecting it to pin7 but with width towards Manual the brightness will show the level of the manual control. I did this in my ADA Flanger and it's pointless but looks quite cool.

Sorry, I had to edit my question post above. Screwed up the img part.

The resistor will limit the current no matter what side it is on.
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

yep but control voltage reference changes
