This is my first attempt at waterslide. What did I do wrong??? It just rolled and crinkled the instant I started to slide it. My last name is Ossi and the pedal uses mosfets.

Was the surface of the enclosure dry?

What should I wet it with? Water or clear?

Water!

Rather than me writing something that has been written and available all over the internet, you need to search: Water slide decal application.

There are written tutorials, videos, books, blogs, etc.

I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

I suspected that you were trying to slide the decal onto a dry surface. Wet the surface of the enclosure and it should slide right into place. Move it into the correct position and squeegee out the air bubbles with your fingers. Wait for it to dry (overnight) then clearcoat over it.

you may even be able to salvage it by throwing it back into a bowl of water.

I usually do it as follows, which I think was in the instructions that came with my decal paper.  It's kind of like pulling a tablecloth out from underneath dishes.  Position the decal with the backing paper where you want it, and then slide the backing paper out while holding one edge of the decal against the enclosure.  Everything needs to be wet with water.
