Bazz Fuss mod to Sovtek Big Muff type...

Thinking about making this simple circuit in its more "dynamic" form as thru the "deluxe" version on the home wrecker site in an attempt to mimic my Tall Font Sovtek Big Muff... to reference:

http://home-wrecker.com/bazz.html

The basis is the "deluxe" version but making these additions/substitutions based on my direct sound comparisons with my earlier build of a more "standard" bazz fuss (.22uF input cap, .1uF output cap, 1 - 1N4001 silicone diode, 2 - 2N4401 trannies wired as a darlington pair) and my stock green tall font Sovtek Big Muff.

-Using the 100k pot at the circuit input as the tone control (100k) fading between two caps of values 0.1uF (treble side) and 1uF (or a value up to 10uF for the bass side).
-Using a 2K (or 5K?) pot from emitter to ground as the gain control.

and sticking with my mods noted above in my more "standard" version.

Surprisingly the tone on more  "standard" version comes close to my Tall Font Sovtek Big Muff, with the gain maxed and the tone pot at 3 o'clock. So lowering the input cap from .22uF to .1uF on this bazzfuss would more mimic the sovtek at full CW tone pot setting, just the mids are abit different (not a surprise)  Will need to experiment with which "bass" cap value for the bazz fuss will mimic the full CCW tone pot setting on the Big Muff (thus thinking it will fall somewhere in the 1uF to 10uF ballpark).

The 1n4001 and the 2N4401s give me the right gain structure that's close to my Big Muff.  I know I can also look at the Whisker Biscuit circuit for a big muff-esque tone but thinking about trying this first...
