I've been hooked on the PT Nano thread over on TGP for a long time, and I've been planning some super packed builds.

Not necessarily compact pedals, but fitting more in a given space.

What's the most packed pedal you've made or seen? Pics please!

gena_p1

you can find 'em yourself in 1590a pics.
as for me, small clone was most difficult, because of single sided PCB and 1u film caps.

TheBigMan

I don't have any gut shots, but I used to build pedals in a little enclosure from Maplin that measures 3"x2"x1".  Did an AB box, a Ruby Amp, an Orange Squeezer, an X-Over Distortion and an AMZ MOSFET Boost.  Gave up after the MOSFFET boost which was a real struggle to fit, lining up the volume pot and the trimpot in the tiny space was a nightmare.  The Ruby is the only thing with two pots I've squeezed in, and that's only because it doesn't have a switch.

CodeMonk

Probably this.
Jordan Bosstone clone I built.
It was fine until I decided to add a DP6T rotary switch to change the input and output caps:
(DEFINITELY FAR FROM MY BEST WORK)

Yeah, I made the PCB for the stomp switch way to big.
I've since redesigned the PCB (But have yet to build one).

This is what it looks like from the outside:

I'm gonna go with this one because it's one of mine  ;D

Not that there's anything special about it (it's a veroboard DBD+Clarinot+Clarinot 3in1), it's only for the fact that it's my second pedal ever.  ::)

Spaceman WOW Signal fuzz clone. The five pots were a beyotch to jig up and place just right. My #1 "Most Stuffed" build.

A similar subject just popped up over at MBP. Look up solderman's 'World's smallest flanger'   or any of solderman's stuff.   My first 1590A was the phase 90.

I'm sorry sir, we only have the regular ohms.

Yeah I'm not even gonna get into those 1590As... they scare the living daylights out of me so that's mad propz to Mike for getting all of that in there.

I just realized I forgot to post the topside of my 3in1 stuffer. I could probably do a neater wiring job nowadays but all the mojo would be gone.  ::)

Mojo is directly proportional to the, neatness, and amount of, wiring.

I must admit though, I've always had an envious admiration of some of those 1590A artists. Outstanding work there. :icon_cool:

Alright GoranP- what's the hole count on that thing?   Mine (a couple earlier than your post) has 30!
Nice pedal.  Vibrato- what do the stomps do?
Funny- my second pedal as well.  Way too ambitious a project for my 2nd, and absolutely no patience left to learn painting, etching, etc.  someday. Maybe. Maybe not.

I was seduced by the small side a ways back when looking into the onboard effects in older Vox guitars.

I had to work with 1.1" by 0.9" boards. I got a compressor on one side and a 4053 electronic bypass on the other, including buffers in and out.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

This was the first pedal I built.  So may wires - and so many off board connections :icon_frown: !!!

Gotta be this one, prof tweed->baby tubescreamer->zp micro delay-> small angel chorus. 1776 3pdt boards were a life saver for getting power all the way across.

Surprised no one mentioned the fuzz lab or screamer lab from http://www.beavisaudio.com/
