i've done this on several fuzzes and things now... i am a germanium FREAK. screw that silicon stuff. it's not the same.
played thru my bro mike's rig last nite, all si and was startled by the differences in response of the wah and fuzz in particular... it is not the same, not even close.

however, the buffer between wah and fuzzface thing DOES work... with silicon. not so good with ge.
the interesting thing is, and probably why hendrix moved to silicon, is you can make your wah oscillate in the background and play specific pitches with it in the background, sweeping them via the wah BEFORE the silicon fuzz.
with ge, it's not the same animal whatsoever. keeping the fuzz first for me.

so why am i pestering the board with my antics and baaloney?

cuz this little gizmo is cool. nothing that hasn't been done really, other than me making it slightly more modular.

got some transistors you like in a fuzz? like the differences between a silicon or a ge transistor tonally, can't decide.

but wait, there's more... you can now socket  builds and swap transistor pairs you like between boards. or any other application. if youhave a socket, you can do this.

ya may wanna power down the fuzz. i haven't found it necessary, tho there's a bit of a pop. i make sure i switch on my attack when i do this, it can add a cool kinda swell in some circumstances...

i find it quite handy, when imperilled by a choice i can't make between two transistors i love.
i want em all, dammit. of course, this wont work for any old caps, this is for ones that sound good when you swap 'em out.
extra brownie points (you may wanna skip my brownies, actually) if ya put sockets on the switch.
