Walk-through guide for jfet & mosfet od & distortion circuits?

I learnt heaps from the 'cook your own distortion' article which looks at the various aspects of an op-amp overdrive / distortion circuit - I'm wondering if there's a similar walk-through for jfet and mosfet circuits?

Someone needs to write one, for sure!  There isn't one that I'm aware of, but I hope I'm mistaken.

Until then, to get some good info you could check out some of the circuits at Runoffgroove.com - especially the Fetzer stuff. They are really good about writing up circuit action, so the rest of us can see the development process.
