Fuzz Factory 10uf capacitor in parallel with Drive pot - what's it do?

Schematic for reference. There's a 10uF cap coming from V+ to the middle lug of the Drive pot.

Long story as to why, but I'm trying to get the Drive pot controlled by an external expression pedal, and it'll be much easier if it can be done with 2 conductors rather than 3. What would be the implication if the 10uF cap was removed?

It's the emitter bypass capacitor for the last transistor.
It boosts the gain for any frequencies that see the cap as an lower impedance than the fixed resistors to the +V.
It has the same basic function as the "fuzz" control on a fuzz face.

If you remove the cap, you'll be changing the dc levels instead of just the ac levels.
It will end up being similar to the comp control next to it.

Awesome, that makes sense! Thank you.

I skipped Fuzz Face Academy and dove straight into the TS and BMP when I first got started, so some of this basic stuff still gets me.
