Hey guys ... i know that this is not an original idea but, i come in front of you with this: A very good friend of mine (a very good bass player) is never very pleased about any distortion pedal that he used, he would like to cut there to boost on the other part ... to have distortion only on mids or ... a little bit on low freq. and so on (i guess you know the type :)) - artist type without any idea about technical matters).

So ... i imagine this - split the signal in 4, have an EQ on every split with it's own band, distort every band with a distortion mechanism (whatever that would be), mix them back add a clean blend ... and that should be it.

So this is my first step - active split and EQ inspired from GeoFX. I will post what i have done so far, so any ideas would be more then appreciated.

The Blue Monster is similar to what you are describing.    It's two bands but there was a follow up project that had 3 bands.  May be a good place to start looking for ideas.  I don't know if it was posted here or not, but it is over at Madbeans place.

I don't find any info regarding this pedal... do you have any links?

Gus

I posted the link for some ideas.

FWIW a friend who played Jazz guitar both 6 and 7 string wanted a splitter box to send some signal to a bass amp and some to a guitar amp
That did not sound that good so I made a crossover like circuit with the low and high pass at the same frequency that sounded better but not that great
Next we adjusted the -3dB frequencies but they were different and ended up with an overlap sounding the best.
