A stupid idea?

Right now I'm messin around with breadbording a Fuzz Face (as well as a Tonebender Mk1.5) circuit.

I know how to reduce high end, if needed, using pf-caps, but sometimes - when using low gain germs - the sound is a bit dark...

Today I threw a "treble bleed cap circuit" over the volume pot, and yes I do get a bit more sparkle this way (haven't fine tuned the value yet but that won't be hard to do).

FF cirucuit tend to get a bit dark when one lowers the fuzz knob, so I tried the same thing (a treble bleed circuit over the middle lugs) with the Fuzz pot, and yes I did not loose highs when reducing the amount of Fuzz.

Having NO theoretical understanding of electronics my question is:
Is a stupid idea to have "treble bleed/bright caps" over the Fuzz and Volume pots in a Fuzz Face circuit?   (I might create other problems that I haven't noticed yet...)

Other than maybe affecting how the fuzz will clean up as you roll back, a little, I see no reason at all why you can't have a bleed cap there if you want.

I have them in my guitars, across the volume pots.  One thing to think about might be - "how would this behave if the person has a cap in their axe, AND I put one in my effect, AND they roll the guitar vol AND effect volume back?".     Probably would get extremely tinny.  But for 99.9% of us, we're making these things for ourselves and maybe a friend or 2 and not commercially, so I say do what you like if you like the sound!

The clean up is fine also with treble bleeds in the guitars.
I need to fine tune the value of the caps, and as a lowered fuzz pot will need a raised volume pot - and vice versa -  my idea is that the caps will "work together" in keeping a rather constant high end regardless of the settings of the fuzz/volume pots.
In theory at least ;)

Sounds good. Why don't you put it together, and then write back what values you used, and where?  Everyone would like to see them!

If/When I get it to work, I'll post the results here!
