I did not win the lottery either.  Mine showed up today, and they are the plain modern variety.

I have some transistors that I pulled out of an organ that are exactly like this only they are u1916 7348 or 7349 I think the 7348 is a date code. I can't find anything about a u1916 though it appears to be an npn. I'm selling a few of them in the for sale section if anyone is interested. I'm planning on measuring hfe soon.

I still have my order history from Amazon. I'll go back when I get a chance and see if there is a "contact this seller" button and ask them specifically with pictures just to see.
