BOSS Check LED

Its been a while since I have messed with a BOSS pedal and I need some guidance. I have a BOSS CE-3 and everything works great on it EXCEPT for the Check LED. When I plug in my 1Spot the effect works just fine sound wise but, I get no Check LED to indicate it is engaged.

Is this normal? If not... what could be the causes?

Check light works just fine on battery!

Older Boss pedals need ACA type of adapter. To convert it to PSA, in the case of CE-3

Desolder and remove the diode (D1) and resistor (R1).
In their place, install and solder jumpers (cut-off resistor legs work fine).

Yes... however, its OTHER function is to indicate when the effect is on

Did some more digging and I believe this is the answer. The diode/resistor setup on the DC input for the wall wart is stopping the full voltage from getting to the Check LED to function properly. It is enough for the circuit to work but, it does not allow for the Check LED to function properly. Going to leave it as-is. Thanks for the help!

orlright, I've stared and stared at that diagram, and it still looks to me like D1 is reverse biased. what am I missing this time?

Dont know if you are missing anything however, from the research I have done, apparently you have to remove D1 and R1 from the circuit and replace them with wire jumpers in order to get a standard PSA power supply (9VDC) to work with the Check LED. The D1/R1 circuit was used in conjunction with the older BOSS ADA 12V adapters.

Also, I guess if you daisy chain one or more "regular" pedals with this BOSS pedal then it is supposed to work properly with a normal 9V wall wart. Haven't tried it yet though...
