Thanks for the praise guys. Really means a lot to me. Every build is a learning curve for me.

One thing I forgot to mention was the two stand-off's that are used to secure the board, and fasten the lower end of the cover. They really should be slotted, to allow use of a flat screwdriver. There's no room for a socket, and in my case, having two headers snuggling up beside them didn't help any either. I don't know if Steve can source something like this as a replacement, it would be the cat's ass in here;



Or, Dremel and a cut-off disc can do the job as well. After all, why take the "Y", out of "DIY", right?  

This is the final layout. Component placement could change somewhat, depending on the size of the component used, so feel free to tinker with the layout. This is why my final layout didn't exactly reflect the first ones that I drew up. I had to move the power header up one as well, since installing the stand-off would be impossible otherwise.



An other advantage to this whole deal would be the recyclability (is that a word?) of the platform. With four pots, and a bit of imagination, one could build several different effects on different Bare Boards, and then just swap them in. Print up different cards that would drop in around the pots for control labelling (think Mutron Bi-Phase), and you're off. Plug n' Play.

Just a shame that the jack configuration doesn't fit my rig, but... I would be more than proud to offer this puppy up as a prize for a future contest. Maybe that would help spread the word more as well.

The pot board that Steve sells allows for a 15-pin Molex header, 3 pins per pot/control, the idea being one sticks a header on the circuit board, the pot board, or both.  I can't see the pics Dino put up the other day, but I think he was using the 15-pin Molex shown here: http://www.smallbearelec.com/servlet/Detail?no=1293.

Well, maybe we should start planning now for another Turkey Day shootout? If we start now, we'll have plenty of time to get it organized, and get the prizes together. Not that we did shabbily last time. One prize per participant is pretty damn hard to beat brother.

That was part of what I had in mind. Thank you so much for the cool design! I have been busy helping my folks to recover from a difficult situation (apartment flooded--don't ask). However, I will attend to posting the layout and seeing to your store credit for the enclosure ASAP.

That one is not Molex. I had my Taiwanese vendor make that and the companion 15-pin pre-wired plug. Glad to see it used intelligently! Available from stock.

Actually, not that intelligently.... At the spur of my shopping spree moment, I failed to notice that there was 6 pin headers/connectors as well. Would have been smarter (and neater) to use two of them, then have 3 wasted pins.

Well if you have 3 pins "left over", you know what you can do, right?  You can graft a tone-bypass switch, like the op-amp version has.  Or, you could use it to lift the diodes and series cap in the first stage, to mimic the Sola Jumbo Tonebender.
