What is your favorite top Germanium transistor?

I use what I can find NOS surplus mostly.  I build almost nothing but PNP FF's.  I use what I can get relatively inexpensively mostly.  Some of my observations:

AC128's are great.
I got some Russians cheaply.  They measure low gain, but have a nice sound.  I use a combo of GT308B and GT308V.
I like the sound of the USA Germs a lot.  I use combos of 2N404, 404A, 508, 1305, and 1309's.  Measure them for Hfe and match them up!
Lately, been playing with some Chinese Germs.. 3AX31C.  Inexpensive, but usually high leakage, and higher gain.  They sound a little harsh.  I'm going to try a Russian in Q1 and a Chinese in Q2 soon... I think they will play well together.
