I've had a quick scout around but I can't find anything like that.
However I discovered these. (Not affiliated)

I've seen those... but I need a heatsink with at least a RTHK of 4K/W. Less than this value and the capacitors will cook inside!

Thanks.

They probably exist in the car stereo market. I've seen numbers of little extruded boxes like that will fins on the outer sides, not top. The amps are grossly misstated as to power, but they're probably an honest 10-12W. There are bigger ones that holde supposedly much more powerful amps which have even bigger heat sinks. If you were sufficiently motivated, you might go to a shop that repairs or installs such amplifiers and get a dead unit for low cost or free.

I've had bad luck finding a similar box, so I built one. I used a Hammond 1590 BB and mounted a flat-back heat sink on it, accessible through a hole cut into the box. With some careful work, it came out looking pretty good. The so-called "quarter-brick" heat sinks from the telecom business are a perfect fit in the long dimension for the 1590BB, and leave about 25mm of flat top for controls and switches.

I can post a pic if that helps.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

I used a 1590B box with some vertical heatsinks, but your solution seems much more mechanical robust.

That would be great.

similar boxes are used for RV's and cycles...mini amps

For instance, this is 6" X 7" X 1.6"

always think outside the box
