RBG LED in Sound to Light Circuit

See if you can solve the puzzle:

How do I send a digital ON/OFF 5V signal to change the color an RGB LED between two colors? The LEDs ultimately need to be in series to work like this circuit:

I think I need some transistor logic, but am not sure of the complications. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry but you cannot wire an RGB LED elements in series and have individual control of each color.  If you are using 5v and it varies between 0v and 5v, and you want the two colors opposing each other, you could run the signal into an inverting amp (op amp or transistor) to drive the opposing LED.
