HI ,sure you can use a 3pdt toggle switch wired up the same way.

Would it be possible to add a 'resonance' or 'mix' control for the filter by adding a pot right before the filter on/off switch, or would that also alter the voicing of the filter?

Edit: meant to say resonance, not depth

hi, the filter intensity is controlled by the LDR2.

you could add yet another switch, (which i avoided btw  )

to go between a pot or the LDR2. 

so the new pot becomes the same as the LDR2 but with a manual option too.

Hey Rob, I'm in the process of ordering parts for a Tremshifter, off the BOM.
I have a quick noob question, regarding the LDR's, as I've never worked with them before.
Is one of these okay? Or can someone point to another one?

And it's just a matter of heatshrinking the led & ldr's together, I gather by the pics?

hi pete, yes they are the ones....

they dont specify the resistance?

anyway, yes you face the led to the ldr and heatshrink.



try on ebay, 10-20k  to 1M.

By the power of Google, I found a data sheet for it. 10k-20k. resistance. Couldn't find one available on Smallbear.

Anything found in the stores here in Sydney are no better, and cost over $3 each. On the other hand I can grab a bunch of 20x off fleabay for $1... surely I can find a couple out of them that would do the job! haha.

Dumbass question here - What's the best/easiest way to match LDR's? Never worked with them before.

I'm in the process of googling, but if someone can beat me to it, I'd be grateful!

Hi! I need some help or hints 

I'm building this one (with an "official" pcb) and I'm having an strange problem. The thing is:

- Leds are flashing, pots working (or it seems so) and the leds for de LDR ar flashing too.
- I can't get any sound from the board, if I take out IC1 some signal is crossing, but as soon as I put again IC1 is deadly quiet. Also if I unplug the power cable I'm having again a little bit of signal.

I have double chequed continuity and some kind of shorts, haven't found anything, also tried a bunch of TL072....

¿Some sggestions? Cheers and thanks!

hows the voltages on IC1?.

pins 3/5 should have 4.5v. for bias.

make sure vol pot is up....turn speed up too....

4,4v on both, just a little drop but it should be ok.

Also vol and speed are on the max...

It's frustrating seeing the lights flashing so cool without sound

yeah, your gonna have to probe / trace through from pin 1 to pin 6/7 and see where the drop is...

which might be your LDR which is in series....from pin 1, via resistor to pin 6


is the value of that resistor ok?...R10?.

It was just a faulty set of tl072, changed and great sounding... except I changed (not in purpouse) C5 from 1u to 1n... it was honky as hell 

Great sounding tremolo, really nice.

After this and Chasm Reverb working, next one will be Abductor delay II, but that's a really scary one XD

Glad I saw this. I'm having a similar issue as Salitre.
Basically it's still sitting dead on my test board since last september, Life got in the way.
Anyway, I've got a couple of extra IC's which I'll try eventually.

Finally got my tremshifter pcb functional!
Turned out to only be a dodgy soldering joint at the input.
Next is to make a purdy box for it.
