I know there is a lot of topics about Sustainer. I decided not to
implement it inside my guitar. I mean I would
put the amplifier (fetzer/ruby or kemo amp) inside an enclosure.
The driver will be connected by jack cable...
But I am just wondering if it won't affect the sound.  ???
All tutorials show that the amp circuit should be connected
to the hot end of a guitar coil...
Will it work?
Thanks for help

Kirk Hammet invented the Burst Box.

There's no good reason that you can't put the amp part in a box on the floor except:

1) When you turn it on, you're really going to want to switch to the pickup furthest from the driver coil.  Usually the driver is at the neck, so you only want to hear the bridge pickup while it's in sustain mode.  So are you going to remember to flip the switch in the guitar before you stomp on the pedal?

B) You will need at least 3 conductors between guitar and pedal.  You might be able to share the shield ground, but you need to get the guitar to (and eventually through) the box, and then the amplifield signal back to the coil in the guitar.  I'm afraid that you might get capacitive feedback if those two "hot" conductors share a cable.  Also, it might take some kerthunkin' to make the phase inversion happen for a "harmonic mode" on the sustainer.  So then you end up with two jacks in the guitar, and two cables...

Just found out that link is gone.

It was last seen in 2015.
It's still there:
