I've always wondered if I could get a nice hammered look on some of my pedals, there is a guy named sj effects whose pedals I've always thought looked good. They have a great looking finish.

I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

Wow. Those look incredible.  8) I'm going to try that. Thank you

Seems like a hard process

John Lyons

Very simple process actually.
It just takes some hardware.
$75+ powder gun, Harbor Freight  or Eastwood (check Ebay)
$100 +/- Air compressor
Home oven or toaster oven. Often free (that you will never use for food again)
Powder (Ebay or Prismatic powders) $10ish a pound

the bronze one looks like a cross between "metal" and "lizard". I like the coloured ones.

I use Hammerite paint, because it's so easy to use. In this example, the blue is applied with a brush, the green is sprayed. Always use a primer!

What about fumes, is it something that has to be done in a semi-occupied space/ garage (running the oven)?

Also I guess there is no hvlp solution for the spray gun?

I have a walled off plastic sheeting painting area that vents outside via a bathroom fan and an in line
booster (faster ventilation with the booster). Basically a dryer vent and hose that is screwed into the joists of the ceiling.
I sealed off everything but a door/flap section. I have a box with a "lazy susan" so I can
spin the work piece around and powder coat or paint each side.
A small work table and a home oven inside the "paint room". Been using this for a 3 years now.

There are fumes with powder. Nothing like wet paint but I spray lacquer and rattle can paint in there as well.
You could vent right out of the oven if you were just going to powder coat. Youd get a little out of the door
when you took out the pieces once cured but it would be bad.
