TB MkIII - what were collector voltages like on vintage units?

I am even more intrigued to try out a build with the parts values in the clone you built. It looks like the Elka Dizzytone had the 680k/150k bias string as well and those do sound really good. Sort of like the Buzzaround clone I have but a bit wilder with the fuzz maxed.

Also, an update on my MkIII build. I removed the 560k resistor completely just to see what would happen. Q3 collector voltage shot up to about 3.6 volts. Sound-wise, it was still really good and not a lot different. I would say there was maybe a bit more rasp in the mids. I'll try out 1m or so today to build a bit of leakage back in, just to see if I can get close to what your vintage units had for Q3 voltage. My overall impression though is that this is a pretty forgiving circuit.

Yes! It sure is forgiving and easy to build. And on top of that it's a great sounding fuzz. I guess Q3's collector voltage might change a bit with the temperature.
Messing with different hfes and leakages for Q3 sure can shape the tone a lot...
