Time is running out ..... Will he make it????????

I'd be surprised if I didn't, did a quick count and I think it's 40 solder joints, give or take a lie or two. That should be manageable even with just over 24 hours to go  ;D

Better photos and gut shots in the morning, it's quarter to one in the morning now and high time to go to sleep.

Very nice. Is that a "Southpaw" setup? Get yourself some well deserved rest.
*edit* "Southpaw" is an American idiom for "Left-Handed".

Nope, do you disagree with the order of the effects? Or why did you think it was a lefty setup?

And I've seen enough American films and TV to understand southpaw ;)

I guess it is just my personal preference (and other boards I have seen) to set up my chain to go first box to the right, and add the rest toward the left.

Amp<Delay<Modulation<Dirt<Boost/Buffer<guitar

No Big Deal. All personal preference and ease of use. Looks great. Congrats!  :D

I agree that buffer should go first, but I always put delay before dirt, because delaying a dirty signal gets messier than distorting a delayed signal. I agree that modulation generally comes after dirt, but I put a boost last because I mostly use it to give me more volume for a solo.

But I'm sure there are a hundred threads discussing pedal order, and like you said, personal preference.

I have never thought to try that. Once again, another's personal preferences could become a different sonic tool. Thanks. :icon_cool:

So party is happening or past, did he have any idea all this was in the works? In any case he must have been totally gobsmacked, wonderful gift, he's lucky to have you as a brother.

He didn't know anything and was pleasantly surprised, the other guys in his band really liked them too. Wouldn't be surprised if I get inquiries about building stuff when they get to try them out.

They were playing today but he didn't open the gift before they stopped playing. I'll look at the pictures and videos I took and see if they're good enough to be posted here.

Great result, Pelle. What a cool birthday present. Btw, it's my birthday tomorrow too. And my 50th. What you built me? ;)

Didn't mention the last parts of the gift. Threw in patch cables to connect them and a daisy chain to power them and took a red cross thrift store bought 12V unregulated supply and put this in the middle of the cable.

And as promised here he is guitar in hand gigging away in his own living room, before opening the gifts, so only a Polytune on the floor.
