Another stunner Rob!

Turned the volume right up for the demo, kept getting sympathetic vibrations through my bench and watched my coffee cup vibrate right off the side. Caught the cup but not the coffee

little tip for guys building this...

connect speed 3 and 2 wires on pcb,

but connect wire 3 to lug 1 of your speed pot ok...so that it is reversed.

just a heads up..

i used mine at a jam over the weekend, and it kicks ass.

...nice n chewy, and the manual filter is pukka for leads too...very cool.

Rob, I have just populated a PCB I bought from you long ago. I need to pick JFETs. Do I have to match them, or not? What is the best V_gs(off) range for this?

hi man, i just went with random fets, i must have had a good batch as they all worked fine.

i would socket them, and go from there really....cheers rob .

OK, I'll try that approach.

Hate to use sockets, because it's PITA to desolder them for final build. However, maybe I shall try with advice from here https://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=50746.msg380011#msg380011 saying that matching is not important at all?

I don't recall doing any kind of matching for mine (and it sounds fab). I just picked the first four 5457s out of my stash completely at random. It's possible they may have come from the same baggie from the same supplier.

When I know I'm going to eventually unsolder them, I break off the plastic and only solder in each pin. Makes removal simple but can cause a chicken smell when putting them in
