Guys, which buffer will be a good choice to box it together with the this project?
I'm using Boss DS1 bypassed in front to "Fix" my squealing problem for now.

Hi Demi
If you like the boss sd1 buffer then why not use it?

Just include r1 c1 q5 r3 c2 r18 r19 c11 r2

Hi guys! Is it possible to not change input impedance. As an example the Carvin Legacy input is 220,000 ohms.
I just want to tame and filter the jfet preamp. But dont want to alternate the highs and the input character of the amp and my guitar.
I see most of the buffers have Hi Z 1 mega ohm input, but this produce to much highs and clear signal.

Hi guys! Thanks for all your help and time!
I'm not doing to much internet lately but my right shoulder is in bad shape and I'm visiting some rehab centers.
Here are my jfet pedals in a video.

Hey dimirock and others,
I am not sure if you ever got this going correctly, or if it has been mentioned yet or not, but one thing to consider is that the JFETs were fakes or very low gain samples you got ahold of. JFETs are not being produced any longer in the TO92 form factor. You can still get real ones from a trusted source like mouser.com etc, but they are SMD form factor now. A good replacement for them is a MOSFET transistor, they can be substituted directly for JFETs. I have been using either the 2N7000 or the BS170 variants to replace any of the N-Channel JFETs such as the 2N5457, 2N5458, MPF102, J201, etc. with success. Best of luck.

Hey dimirock and others,

Great advice about scarcity of real JFETs, just note that the conversation stalled three years ago so dimirock may not see it.
