Yes but what I lack in knowledge I make up for in determination... That's what she said. ;D

I did stumble onto the justradios chart a couple days ago and it helped a lot.

Holy Crap!!! We are back to my original question.
I guess your question was as dumb as mine. Lol

hey wait a minute! it was me that was going to ask the question. now we'll never know it it was dumber or not.

and butcher, for a 9V powered pedal, all your polys can be 50/63V or 100V rated, all yr electros can be 16V (min) and up, all your resistors 1/4W, all your women strong and your men good looking.

and Gibson - that diagram looks like an asprin* I took once.

* asprin - old time pain pill. insert neurophen/disprin/paracetomoil/strange american brand name of choice. (not bex, that was a powder.)

Yeah, the *aspirin* that Albert Hoffman gave you that made tropical fish caps REALLY fascinating for about 8 hours.   :icon_evil:

It doesn't matter as long as the Bayer's lab didn't perplexed it with other pain killers (like morphine or heroine) :icon_wink:

small part of many lolol

and still making , and yet to come !

I am very new , still in physics 101, highest math class I have taken and passd is math 112 college algebra  and only had 1 year of chemistry ...small steps my friend as anything worth it takes time :)

It's cool, this is a good place to come to learn.  I've learned more from folks around here than I did in school.

Folks will make lots of jokes but they are almost never have any malice attached to them.

Oh no, we're malicious, Wavley...don't EVER forget that. Don't EVER ask a silly question, even if you DIDN'T spend 6 years studying engineering at MIT, you hear???  >;)    LOL!

Each and every one of us, with VERY few exceptions, HAD to ask what we thought were "silly" questions.  Sometimes there comes a moment where ya JUST DON'T KNOW, but you WANT TO KNOW.  You won't get any further unless you ask...we've all been there.  Most of us many times, and we still do get embarrassed at times, forgetting something we think we SHOULD know, and thus making some statement we make come out kind of....wrong, ha ha....sometimes I need to just follow posts to learn, trying to absorb the more intricate stuff.  Believe me, it NEVER ends!    Which I see as a good thing; always something to think about.     "Silly questions" mean your head is working on something, maybe a little out of your comfort zone, and that's how you learn new stuff...

I think the best part about this place is the willingness to share info - I mean, a consultant answering these questions gets $100/hr, but here we get it free!    So we have to pass it on, freely.

Duck - some of us still take salicylic acid pills on occasion ;)  Altho I'm now partial to Ibuprofen, getting older and all...

Are you giving me the business?

Because I will take that business, turn it around, make a profit, hire you, and then fire you!  :D

edit: But before I fire you, I'll make you fit some of LightSoundGeometry's 10000 Volt caps in an A sized box.

I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

I always make sure I get paid before getting fired!  Every time!  :)

I have a special hammer I use, it makes those caps go in like SILK...

Well I think it is time for my next stupid question
resistors: general purpose or semi precision or doesn't matter?

Any old kind, 5 or 10% tolerance.  Precision?  What's that? ;)    ONLY if called for, in my book - and I've seen NO stomps requiring precision, ever...only test equipment like special oscillators used to calibrate things, and the like...I'd buy them then, if I needed them.

Many ppl use standard carbon composition type, or wire wound.  I prefer good ol' fashioned carbon comp.  Get 'em on Ebay, a whole set for like $5.   1/4 watt rating for 9V use, and 1/2W for some more specialized stuff like tube work.
