Intresting. It will be even more intresting when they have sold some units and the price begins to drop. Not that its a bad pricepoint for a start though.
Thanks RG

^Good finds. :)

This is nice:

Below is nicer though pricey. The educational discount is pretty sweet though. I've gotten an incredible amount of use out of this guy since it comes with the BB and 4 channel Oscilloscope, 2 channel AWG, 4  Volt meters and even digital interfaces, FFT, Histogram, VRefs and several power supplies V+, V- , 5V, 3.3V etc etc..

Last year I got the cheap 2 channel Hantek 6022 for around 70$ from Ebay, free shipping from China. It came with two probes. You can't beat that for an entry level digital scope. For audio it's OK. A guy in a forum did substantial upgrade to the software for free so it's worth the money now.
Some years ago I was thinking of building one of the projects circulating in the net however it would cost me at least twice that (less the probes). In that case it's better to buy one (with the probes together).

That's the unit I use. I bought it about 4 years ago, but I think for around $120 off EBay.

It's always worked well for my applications, which is for visualizing simple waveforms, ptp voltages, and clock frequencies. It can probably do much more, but I haven't taken the time to really figure it out.

The best part is the two channels, so comparing two waveforms simultaneously is really cool.

I bought me one of these about a year ago, works great for audio, haven't used for higher ranges, can't beat the pricetag! haven't gotten around yet but I really hope the software will be capable of running under WINE in linux, since that's what my laptop, that's going to the workshop, I am building is running.

With an USB oscilloscope you have the added bonus of taking screenshots as well.

EDIT: also it's the best thing along with the DMM for debugging circuits, for that price, every pedal builder, who cant afford a good standalone, should get one. takes about 2 minutes to find, where the signal is lost!

I bought me one of these

That's a good price. When I'm next cashed up I've got to grab one. I've been busting to play with an oscilloscope.

I picked on of these up a few months ago: (http://www.bitscope.com/product/BS05/ with the probe adapter) for about £100.
I don't have any major gripes with it, although I will be putting it in an enclosure at some stage. It has the added advantages of running on various non-Windows OS's.

I would probably be dancing around at the news of even more low-cost USB scopes if I hadn't been using a Picoscope for years.

I personally can't think how I'd do without it.

Looks nice but I'd need to see the price drop a lot before I swapped out my soundcard based scope I built from jelly bean parts
