I'm just wondering if it's just a passive box with a 1/4 jack as OUT and a standard 5-pin MIDI as IN wired together. If so, how would I wire the cables.

At $50, is quite cheap and I would just buy it, but I just want to control 1 single pedal and I find the extra ports and dimensions completely unnecessary. Plus, I try to DIY everything I can.

Thanks.

The DC jack is a big clue that this is not likely to be the case.
I'm a refugee of the great dropbox purge of '17.
Project details (schematics, layouts, etc) are slowly being added here: http://samdump.wordpress.com

Thanks.
I'll keep doing research and hope I can build one.

deadastronaut, I like stompboxes.

It could be something like shown here http://www.midi.org/techspecs/electrispec.php where it says "To UART" would go to the output jack. This fits with the description in the user manual that it "...converts from current to voltage". It might buffer or invert the signal rather than take it straight from the output of the opto isolator.
