Other charge pumps that might work with this little voltage inverter board

I'm building up this neat little daughter board to power a PNP fuzz:

But I don't have the IC it specifies, or the MAXX1044 that could also be used with it.  I **do** have a TC1044SCPA.  Can anybody tell me if that IC would work in this circuit?
