I've got an old Rocktek DIR-1 distortion pedal. It has floated around for many many years. I was curious if there was a way to mod something like this for the bass. It doesn't have much in the low end tone.
Any ideas?

I'm sure there is a way, if you can find a schematic for us to work from!    One trick is to increase the value of the input and output capacitors, which 'allows more bass' in and out.

The input is typically used as a place to trim low end, to prevent mud.  If you can find the input cap, you can mess with it to your taste...

Another thing to consider is adding a means to blend in the unmodified signal with the distorted signal to regain some low end.
