Two additional ideas: Add a switch to bypass the first stage in the MK-II, like in the Fender Blender. Should give a better clean-up an a more fuzz face like sound.
Or think about the Basic Audio Scarab Deluxe - a "modern" Tone Bender variation, but much more flexible. I'm just building it, maybe I'll add that bypass switch to it as well...

Bypassing the first stage could be tricky. You'd have to pick transistors that will sound good in 2 transistor as well as in three transistor mode.

Thanks, LightSoundGeometry. Have already seen this vid.
I've just received a demo of the MKIII for $50 mentioned above. Judge it for yourself: https://soundcloud.com/saboteur1001/mkiii-demo
Guitar volume goes lower at first and then goes at highest position. Fuzz control at max.
Gosh, it seems there is no any overdrive at all. There is no singing notes, no fuzz at all, just a tiny amount of buzz. Now I'm afraid about the BBB 'cos of the same circuit with the MKIII. Will it be the same poor and weak fuzzing? Maybe I had better go with MKII? Are there any schematic of the MKII with bias control added? Thanks.

Electric Warrior

Oh my. That's not very fuzzy, indeed. It should have a lot more gain. Like this: http://naturalbornyoers.com/forumpics/mkIIIdemo.mp3

To finish the topic, here is what my buzzaround copy pedal sounds like: https://soundcloud.com/saboteur1001/buzzaround
Tone and sustain knobs are in the middle position in this demo.
There are three MP42 transistors inside.
