Long ago I built an orange squeezer.  I liked it alot, but have never been able to straighten out the way the compression releases if that makes sense.  As the note starts to decay you can kind of hear the volume go up and down as it fades.  I can't seem to remedy it by just biasing, I tried changing the transistors and that didn't help either. Any suggestions?

The guitar is not a steady source of signal, and it's only half-wave rectified. The release cap (4.7uF in parallel with 100k) smooths it as much as possible, but really fixing it requires a more complicated design than the OS.
