Greetings!
I'm building a prototype of the ea tremolo but I have some issues.I am building and testing each part of the circuit one by one.The preamp works fine but the LFO,doesn't.The led blinks but not really bright(using the GGG circuit, not the tonepad version). The speed control is acting a bit weird-turning it all the way up,the led is constantly lit.Cool.But if I try to slow it down,it remains the same.
Built the same circuit before and it had the same issues. Also at faster and slower rates the tremolo isn't really pronounced(there is kind of a midpoint on the pot were things are reasonable).
All the values are correct.Nothing is connecting to were it shouldn't be.

What could it be!
Thanks!

Check the 3 1uF caps at C5-C7. It's important they match as close as possible, non-polarized film seem to work best.

Unfortunately I don't have a capacitance meter to make sure their values are close. They are all be the same(1uf,ceramic I believe, just purchased today so I don't expect they could be old). But,thanks!

Pojo

Ceramic caps can be very high tolerance depending on the type used. I would recommend upgrading to a film type if possible.

If you're using electrolytics for the 1uf caps. Is the polarity correct?

I've built this LFO circuit into lots of my pedals, always using electrolytic caps and have never had an issue. (I always use 3 of the same brand, so maybe this helps with the matching)

Lapsteelman-no I believe they are ceramic, but I'll give it a try both with electrolytics and film caps.
BTW. This might be a bit of a dumb question but will the circuit work if I use any 3 caps of the same value(obviously close to 1uf )?
Thanks!
I'll give it a shot when I can and see how things go on!

The circuit WILL work but you'll have different charging (and discharing) time...

As long as the caps values are close to 1μF you can keep the same value of the Rate pot (which IMHO shoud be a reverse-log taper..)

P.S.
1μF electrolytic caps have worked fine for more than 2 years in both my GGG & RoG (MosFet mod) tremolos
