Hi, I'll building an OCD V2 clone soon, and I'm wondering what name to give it. I'd massively appreciate any input!
Thanks.

Loving the names so far! Keep them coming!

On the theme of OCD related mental disorders I'll pitch some ideas into the hat:
ADHD
Social Anxiety Disorder (but you probably wouldn't want to use the acronym)
Manic Comorbidity
OCPD (related to OCD and maybe captures the "V2" part of the OCD)
RDF (Reality Distortion Field -- condition coined for Steve Jobs)

Or one of the treatments for an anxiety disorder:
Hypnotherapy

Anyway, maybe that will inspire something if you want to stay on the theme of mental disorders.

tr.v. trans·mog·ri·fied, trans·mog·ri·fy·ing, trans·mog·ri·fies To change into a different shape or form, especially one that is fantastic or bizarre.

White Bear

Obsessive-compulsive disorder is marked by what psychologists refer to as "intrusive thoughts", making it a sibling, or at least cousin, of post-traumatic stress disorder, which is also marked by intrusive thoughts.  In the case of PTSD, the thoughts provoke feelings of intense anxiety.  In OCD, the intrusive thoughts lead to compulsive behaviours, that, through force of habit, seem to momentarily alleviate the anxiety for the victim.

The late Daniel Wegner (a Canadian, but a prof at Harvard when he died) did some of the first scientific study of the mechanics of intrusive thoughts.  In a now classic study, he asked resarch participants NOT to "think of a white bear".  And of course, with that instruction, it seemed to be all they could think about.  The more they forced themselves to try to not to think about it, the more they thought about it.  http://www.apa.org/monitor/2011/10/unwanted-thoughts.aspx

So, if you want an overdrive pedal to capture your attention and hold it, it's gotta be a White Bear.

Cool reads dudes. Made me think of "Pavlov's Dog" for a name
