Hello  ev'ryone!
This is my first post down here!
I've got a question for ya: I am trying (without success) to build a stompbox based on this schematics:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/bs35avq0aoq996m/BazzFuss2diy.PNG?dl=0

I tried to build it with a stripboard.
My questions are:
Is that schematics correct? (Above all the 3pdt button...)
I ve done some parallels and series (I know how to do it I think, resistors in series sum their resistance and capacitors in parallel sum their capacity) to match resistance and capacity of resistances and capacitors, is it ok?

Thanks a lot

Hi--

I hate drawings like this. They're usable if you have enough experience to fill in missing information, like how to ID tip, ring and sleeve on a physical jack. But they are practically guaranteed to frustrate a beginner. Please Back Up! Start by reading this article:

http://diy.smallbearelec.com/HowTos/BeginnerArticle/BeginnerDos.htm

Then continue by learning to use a breadboard:

http://diy.smallbearelec.com/HowTos/Breadboarding/BreadboardIntro.htm

I can't give you an exact breadboard layout for the circuit you showed, but it looks to be a poor version of the Electra. Here is something similar, but better, to breadboard:

http://diy.smallbearelec.com/HowTos/BreadboardUrsaMinor/BreadboardUrsaMinor.htm

Learn to follow a schem rather than blindly copying a Vero layout. If you follow the learning curve patiently, you'll wind up with better builds with less frustration.

Welcome, and Happy Construction!

I'd avoid that layout - the diode connections are ambigous at best, vrr likely to go wrong.

also hello.

...diode connections are ambigous at best...

I agree, but looking closely you can see they put two blue dots where the diode is supposed to connect.
I think it might work if you MAKE SURE the diode is connected on those two points: Collector to Base (in the right direction as well)
Take my words with a grain of salt, I'm a noob AND I know nothing about cheater board... uhh, err, umm, I mean Vero  ;)
Good Luck and welcome!

*OOPS! Correction: Diode COLLECTOR to BASE

I don't know if that veroboard is verified.

If I can help you, I use this: http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/Renegadrian/bazzfuss.gif.html

Especially if is your very first pedal you should test the circuit without footswitch. I built some pedals, but I used do this, yet.
Then you have to search an offboard wiring. That on tagboard could be good.

I'd say the bazz is the easiest active circuit we have at our disposal. if a beginner is ever to usefully begin, finding "the circuit" and tracing out their own "layout" would be a best place to start, in reading a circuit, translating to parts, and starting with perf or vero.

it's not like we don't need another bazz layout, and it's not like there's no-one here will help with questions.
