Friend asked me to mod an external switch for his DOD FX17.
Replaced the pushbutton switch with a DPDT relay, tapped +9V and GND, and wired one end of the relay coil to GND, other to CTRL.
1/8" stereo jack gets GND (sleeve), +9V (tip), CTRL (ring)

Inside the pushbutton, +9V feeds a TC1044 to make -9V. DPDT stompswitch sends +9V or -9V to CTRL activating DPDT relay, and switches bicolor LED. Red=Vol, Blue=Wah

Hi, Cool mod! (Sorry for posting on such an old topic; I've just come across this having recently picked up one of these pedals.)

I'm considering doing something similar to mine - may I ask the reason why you used a relay rather than a standard passive switch?

Thanks
