Has anyone done anything like this?

Was just looking for some ideas. what have ya's done?

2 gain pots for different settings? etc etc.

Sure I/we have all done this.   Don't think you need a separate PCB for that, but if it makes you feel more comfortable or organized to work with one, by all means, go for it!    I've had a few TS's and things that I did dual gain pots for...they work well for many things.   You could use one to boost treble (altho something hard-wired might be better for that particular thing...).

My 'new thing' (for the past 5 yrs) is a constantly - variable gain setup...an expression pedal for gain, if you will.    So you can really emphasize what you're playing, get the distortion you want WHEN you want it, not just 2 levels.    Essentially just an offboard volume pot.   Or you can set up to use the gain in the pedal remotely (LDR/LED....).    All the way forward = my usual solo distortion, easy to get there fast.

Sky's the limit, whatever you dream up likely can be built, and not too difficult, either!    Look up the "Fulldrive 2" - that one has 2 pots...

That's cool!

Yeah I knew you don't need a pcb for it, just makes things easier.

Fulltone 2 is a great pedal! I used a bass-drive a long time ago. The other stomp just turns the boost on and off, doesn't actually switch the pot used for a certain value.

You could have 2 pots for time on a delay pedal, and switch between them to go from slapback, to a longer delay.
Such a could idea! I just don't know why you don't see it on other pedals..

I really like what this guy/girl does with a lot of their pedals:

A momentary stomp that sends the pedal crazy!

That only applies to (works with) modulation type pedals (delays mostly, but  you could do it with other things).  The momentary switch activates instant max feedback to the delay chip producing oscillation, pretty much the same as having the feedback/repeats knob maxed out, so it is kinda like a pot swap in effect, I suppose, though it is more of a bypass than a swap.  Pretty common on DIY PT2399 based delays (Echo Base, Rebote etc).

I like that Fuzzdog board linked in the OP.  You can use 2 pots, a pot and an internal trimmer, or even hard wire the alt internal setting with resistors.  Either way, keeps it tidy.

I've used these ones but as already said you could do it without a board the thing I like about this particular one is you can bang a trimmer straight on it if you prefer and like the fuzzdog one use a bi colour LED so you know at a glance if it's active or not
