whqat if you could reverse the phase of the wall current coming in ????

i might have a musical idea for this. but what do you think of this circuit.  i don't think so but you be the judge

putting a large capacitive load on your ac system was an old "let's fight the man" trick used by hippies in the 60's and 70's, that used reactance to screw with power companies without incurring any excess charge on the electric bill.

you can easily reverse ac phase.  just reverse the plug, or the wires coming out of any ac transformer secondary winding.

I would definetely use 250V. caps, and that resistor is going to get hot, Hot, HOT!!! Be careful.

thanks. i was fiddiling with the idea of phasing out 60cycle hum.  my old electrnoics proffessor found a way to do this before it ever got to the amp.  although i need to get in touch with him.  i figured phasing out 60cycle hum would be benificial to the board

I saw a circuit recently that used a transformer and a diode to create a 60 cycle reference with lots of harmonics. A series of parallel bandpass filters would then allow you to dial up different amounts ot 60Hz, 120Hz, 180Hz, 240Hz, and 300Hz. Those signals were summed and sent to an opamp to be subtracted from the guitar signal.

I'll dig it up if I can for you.

Here you go Ansil,

Look at figure 6. :D

This is a good link for anybody to learn about filters.
