I came across this project yesterday and found it quite cool: http://www.electrosmash.com/pedalshield

I am thinking to order one, but after watching the youtube video my concern it appears to be very noisy. I am wondering if anyone has first-hand experience with these and if the noise is because of the lack of shielding (i.e. no metal box) or because of the close proximity of the digital circuits.

Thanks

Not a fan of using the microcontroller's own ADC for sampling, noisy, can't be decoupled properly, etc. But other pedals have done it, so, eh.

What would you propose then @cloudscape?
Some external ADC and DAC?

I am currently looking into trying my hand at a digital multi effects pedal.  I have teensy 3.1 and several arduinos I'd use if suitable.

You know how it is..  Read,  read,  read,  gather parts,  read more,  redesign,  gather parts,  start experimenting. Lol.
Any hints welcomed.
