Help Identifying Transistors Please

These have the markings 182 and 38M under that, and are not a shape I've come across before.
Anyone recognise these?
Suitable BC182 replacement perhaps?

If you give a hint as to what circuit this is...it may be helpful in your quest!  ;)
I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

Not sure what the boards from. Some old VHS I'd guess at. I tend to pick up what some people call rubbish if it looks like it might have something useful on. The box caps are what initially interested me : )

Looks like a graphic EQ. Possibly 1/3rd octave(!). Note the box-caps and disc-caps run in small steps. Each pair caps has one transistor and some (4?) resistors. In that case the transistor will be whatever high-gain thing was over-stocked the day it was built.
