Good afternoon all,
Really fancy building a tube amp, have been looking around for verified builds found a lot of data on the ax84 p1 with full build details Bom etc. As anyone built one of these or similar. The other thing I'm trying to work out is I believe (please correct if wrong) that amps are designed like previously meantioned specifically for guitar in terms of the frequency range, so.... If I'm using with a saxophone not sure what outcome I'm gonna get? Really I'm looking for a clean boost with the classic tube (warmth?) and ideas/experience or suggestions much appreciated.

Not sure how a full tube amp would go for you, but a while ago I built a Matsumin Valvecaster for a trumpet player and he was thrilled with it. Great sounding pedal, but low cost and low parts count so even if you hate it you're not out a ton of money.

Usually it's more the speaker/cabinet situation that limits the frequency response of guitar amps.

The tone stack will often be design to work well with guitars (strong accentuated mid range, or sculpting around the midrange point) as opposed to a flat response accross all frequencies.
