This is unexpected good news!

I was looking around on ebay a few weeks back, when I noticed a seller from Italy offering 3340s for half the cost of other sellers.

When I looked at the image of the actual IC, I saw that it looked different from "old stock" 3340s.
The IC had the marking REV. G.

I googled CEM3340 Rev. G and found site pages discussing the new release.

Here's one such site which includes pricing and contact info for ordering.

I just designed a new fuzz circuit! It almost sounds a little different than the last fifty fuzz circuits I designed! ;)

The old Blacet Time Machine ( http://www.blacet.com/TM2050.html ) relied on the use of a pair of 3340s as well MN3005s.  I see that more contemporary adaptations of it have subbed the LM13600 and SSM2164 in place of the CEM3330 chips it also used.  Maybe John Blacet can "get the band back together", now that 3340s and MN3005s appear to be back in limited production.
