I have started my tiny giant amp with a twincaster planning to put it into a wooden enclosure that will sit on top of a speaker cabinet. Tiny giant pcb is populated and I have built the Vero based on
https://www.flickr.com/gp/141176322@N02/r32M9M

Couple of things
The tga will be running off the suggested 15v 4amp laptop supply for the time being anyway
The tga board provides a Conection for a regulated output wanted to use this to power the twincaster what is the best way to use the output to give me 12v and to double check the above schematic/Vero can be run as it is shown at 12v

The other thing on the schematic it shows a second 1m resistor after c3 before 2nd tube but it's not shown on the Vero can anyone tell me where it would go

the tga is supposed to put 20w into 4ohm speaker, how will the twincaster affect this as it (correct me if I'm wrong) will also boost the input before it goes to the tga

Last thing I have used the jj electronics 12au7 before, can anyone recommend brand for the 4 tubes and sockets and best place to source I'm in the uk
Sorry I know that's a lot of questions thanks dan

It won't affect it at all.  It will always be putting 20W into 4R, regardless of what you hook-up at the input.  TG is a clean amp, so the twincaster at the front will likely dirty it up.  Which I guess is what you're aiming for?

Ohm's Law - much like Coles Law, but with less cabbage...

Between last column 4th row and 6th row (8 along 4 and 6 down). But it looks like the vero isn't big enough for that so you have to add another column.
...and have a marvelous day.

I purchased about 15 used tubes a few years ago, many brands, and so far they all have performed well in this application....I can't tell one from the other.   Also, V1A and V1B are  the 2 triodes in one tube so the TwinCaster has 2 tubes

Sorry typo I meant to write source (4) the tubes and sockets but thanks for correcting :) I did look at it originally and think why are there 4 tubes in the schematic

With the 1m I have cut the Vero already I think I can get the hookup and the res leg through the same hole ?

Thanks for the replies

Just the twin caster supply voltage and I'm done  :icon_wink:

If i were you i'd just cut the leg of the 1M resistor just long enough to reach from one hole to the other and solder it to the solder side of the vero. It won't look nice but it's easier than trying to fit a wire and a resistor into the same hole.

(Be aware that the prefix 'm' means mili which is 1/1000 and 'M' means 1,000,000.  So if you say 1 mOhm it's 0.001 Ohm and if you say 1 MOhm it's 1000000 Ohm people will know what you are talking about in most cases but you might and up in trouble with simulations)

QuoteI can't tell one from the other.
You won't because the little differences between tubes are covered up by the starved plate operation.

Slowly making progress, both boards sorted now on to building enclosure I am going to use

For the power supply if I take off the dc end take it I can wire straight to the tga board, with this type of supply if I was to mount the unit inside the enclosure with the two boards tubes etc am I going to encounter noise from the supply and will I need to filter the supply to the board?
