I swapped out the npn for the pnp, and now it sounds more like a flanger sort of (clock squeels now via trimmer vr101, did'nt before, good sign I guess) but I still don't have it working, lfo voltages on ic105 ramps real nice, but  I think I still got to use tl062s. Regards, Jose Quervo Conquistador

I just fired mine up and....

It works!... and very nicely!

I hope all of you guys having problems with it get it working right!

Here's a quick audio demo of the pedal...

Five tracks all using the homebrew FL301 with different settings.

Setup= modded Strat->FL301->computer.

Very nice news Fransisco, soon i'll start building this flanger as soon as i get the ics from Small Bear. I will download the sound sample right now.You used TL062 opamps and 2N5088/2N5087 bjts right? Congratulations for your site and keep the good work designing pcbs. I have already built the small stone and MXR Noise gate with fine results.

Francisco try it on 9 volts instead of 18v, you'll get a cool rubbery reverb effect.

By the way, nice sound clip Fp.

I'll try the 9 volts tonight. I didn't have the 12v regulator so I'm using my variable regulated power supply... I wonder if it'll be the same effect though.

A sound sample with distortion before  would be cool to have...

I have set the trimpots 'by ear' (except for the one for vbias), do you have any insight on that?

It seems like both trimpots 'could' be full sized panel mount pots, as they do affect the sound dramatically... I can think of a whole bunch of little mods here and there. Did you build it stock or included any mods in yours?

I kind of wish I had used panel mount pots instead of trims but I thought I'd keep this one simple. Some of the other flangers have just too many knobs(well you can't ever have too many :D ).

I just tuned mine by ear also.

Who doesn't love having a bunch of pots to fiddle around with... :)

Then you'll spend more time messing with settings than playing... or more time opening the enclosure up and messing with the trimpots!...

Ah, the choices of DIY.

I have seen another Ibanez flanger that has a fourth knob, it's in the LFO section... I may look into that further.

I think I have the IC's for that one too :D

HAHA!

I didn't mean I was going to do the layout! hehe...

I've had enough with the 301!

What I meant was to implement that functionality to the 301!

Flangers are just too many parts!

:)

Never said I wouldn't build again but just laying off for a while besides my middle age crazys of taking up surfing again fell through. The Doc said my back wouldn't take it.(that after I bought a $500 surfboard.) :x

FP,
That was a very nice clip, great job.
Sweet flanger.

Bill, I'm sorry to hear about your surfing plans ruined. I'm still glad your interest in building is just on hold.

Ed, Thanks for the comments on the clip. I found it was VERY easy to do and I want to start making a few more for the other projects.
